[Despite having technically been a Fourth follower for...some amount of time, Ash only recently discovered the existence of the arcade. When he was temporarily transformed as a troll, he tried to use the key card to jimmy open a locked door and was surprised to find the arcade on the other side.

Ever since then, Ash has intermittently popped in whenever he was bored, watching whatever trashy movies he could get his hands on and playing any arcade cabinet that was bright and flashy enough to hold his attention for more than five minutes. Elias was just background noise to this entertainment--after all Ash hardly cared about the kid beyond the fact that he saw him as his ticket out of here. And even if Elias had tried to speak to Ash, Ash would've probably ignored it completely.

It's only during his fifth visit when Ash decides to change this. He's wandering between the arcade cabinets, scoping out any games that happen to catch his eye.]

I gotta say, kid--you got some seriously good taste despite bein', like, ten. But I still wanna know when I'm gonna be given my body back. And, look, I appreciated the lil' taste you gave me when you sent us all to that alternative dimension, but I'm startin' to wonder when the main course is gonna get here.

[He's talking about Felfri, of course. And he expects the Fourth to know of his end goals--to be able to return to his physical body and indulge in whatever goddamn vices he wants to. For a party animal like Ash, being a shade is a sentence worse than death. Though he has been able to find some workarounds for the time being, it still involves the participation of another willing individual, and when your Ashley J. Williams, sometimes it's hard to not piss people off and drive them away from you.]
