[ Used to seeing the distortions cause by her own waves of heat, the shimmer isn't lost on her — is this how he manifests in the world? Unseen, but visible, weightless, but capable of touch. The information about his father catches her attention, but if she wants to ask about that, she needs to answer first.

He's a really passionate guy. He's always the type to be honest about what he's feeling, even if it's embarrassing... he's really selfless, too. He used to be a professional entertainment duelist, but he couldn't keep up with that life when he had me. So, he built a school invested, and runs it himself.

Sometimes he's kinda dumb and doesn't know what he's talking about, but other times it just... takes a minute for it to sink in. And sometimes he really is an impulsive idiot, and I have to bring him back into line, but he always means well. He really cares a lot about his students, and tries to do what's best for them. He is... he was always there for me, even if I didn't want him to be.

[ He'd probably have a lot to say about the way things have gone —not the least of which being living in an apartment with a bunch of boys— but it wouldn't change how he feels about her at all. It's been a long time since she could believe in such unwavering certainty.

She focuses back on the distorted air.

[ She trails off, but it's obvious why: her gaze shifts once more to the tomb — to the home of the skeleton that once lay buried in that man's office. ]
