This is a place to send your prayers to the Fourth god. He may not always respond, or he may respond in ways you don’t expect, but he is always listening.

Speak, he hears you.

OOC note:  As of April 2020, threads with the gods will be capped at three NPC replies! Please keep this in mind when writing god prayers to make sure you get everything you need out of the thread.It’s also possible to handwave prayers by titling your comment HANDWAVED PRAYER. Handwaved prayers lack our usual flourish, but you can expect a faster response!

As of February 2024, god prayers will be handwaved only. Please only submit a prayer if you have a question for either god which needs answering in order to progress your character's arc within Ryslig. If this is something you need to tier up within the god boon system, or just to set up a player plot in general, please don't hesitate to submit a prayer about it! You may shorten it down to an OOC summary of what your character is asking. This will allow any of our helper mods to reply much faster, without having to dig into the specifics of either god's personality/writing quirks. Should this limitation be lifted again in the future, this note will be removed.

[Robotnik stalks into the arcade with as much purpose as someone going through a random door all casually can, stopping only when he reaches the highest concentration of machines.]

[He doesn't wait for acknowledgement before continuing.]

After finding out about your... power situation, I've been working on a solution.

See: even the smallest piece of unlimited power can reach higher potential if it's calibrated correctly. What you have powerwise isn't insufficient, you just don't have the hardware to utilize it properly.

That's where I come in. I'm very familiar with designing machinery to take advantage of just such a situation, and things here are clearly getting to a point where we need to work harder. All you need to do is evolve. You in?

[The machines surrounding Robotonik all light up at once at the abrupt, imperious question. They stay lit up, casting a harsh fluorescent glow over him as he begins to outline his plan.
Once he's finished, the machines almost seem to go still, plunging the room into an uncharacteristis silence as their beeps and boops go quiet.

After a long moment, the Fourth God's voice calls back to Robotonik, quietly and almost nervously.]

you really think I can evolve dr. robotonik?

[He pauses, and some of the machines start to emit a quiet, tense staticky noise.]

what would you do to me?

Of course you can evolve. Everyone can, with the right effort.

[He lets out a low chuckle, meant to sound more reassuring than it does. He's not the best at talking to people without sounding at least slightly condescending. The silence around him might be unnerving to most, but to him it just seems like a good sign. He's listening.]

There are a number of directions we can take, but ultimately I'd need to build something to both process the power you have more efficiently, as well as amplify it to reach its full potential. What we need to do, essentially, is beef your systems up. Difficult, given what we have to work with here, but not impossible.

I would, of course, run any and all enhancements past you before implementation. We obviously need to work together on this.

[He turns towards the closest machine, smiling down at it.] You've been given a disadvantage since the beginning, haven't you? I can make you better. That's what I do.

[fourthmade]

[The staticky crackles grow louder, humming and chirping a fresh set of computations.]

[Silence. The beep boop whirs wind down to nothing.]

Of course it will, more power is always better if you can get it. But in the meantime, refining what you already have can go a long way towards actually obtaining the rest of that power.

[He might have failed in his last attempt along those lines, but no biggie. Learn from mistakes, try again, get out of here so he can go back to what really counts: bagging one incredibly obnoxious alien.

He has to choose his words carefully, lest his instincts consider them too outside the realm of authenticity, but even if his reasoning isn't that altruistic, he's telling the truth.]

Absolutely. No point in putting something together if you don't know if it's going to be compatible, right? In the meantime... do give me any information you've got on your wiring if you can, so I have a good baseline. I look forward to upcoming accomplishments.

[The lights on all the machines suddenly go out, throwing the arcade into pitch darkness. Elias’s boyish, mechanical voice takes on a warmer hue as it trails off into a soft chime.]

I can work with that. Not ideal, but... well, neither is this whole situation, right?

[The lights go out, and Robotnik figures that means it's time to get going. With his own flair for the dramatic, he knows the meaning of a good blackout.]

I'll go sift through what I've got and make a few solid concepts. The sooner we can beat her the better.

[He gives a sharp nod towards one of the machines at random, then stalks back towards the exit.]
