This is a place to send your prayers to the Fourth god. He may not always respond, or he may respond in ways you don’t expect, but he is always listening.

Speak, he hears you.

OOC note:  As of April 2020, threads with the gods will be capped at three NPC replies! Please keep this in mind when writing god prayers to make sure you get everything you need out of the thread.It’s also possible to handwave prayers by titling your comment HANDWAVED PRAYER. Handwaved prayers lack our usual flourish, but you can expect a faster response!

As of February 2024, god prayers will be handwaved only. Please only submit a prayer if you have a question for either god which needs answering in order to progress your character's arc within Ryslig. If this is something you need to tier up within the god boon system, or just to set up a player plot in general, please don't hesitate to submit a prayer about it! You may shorten it down to an OOC summary of what your character is asking. This will allow any of our helper mods to reply much faster, without having to dig into the specifics of either god's personality/writing quirks. Should this limitation be lifted again in the future, this note will be removed.

[The computer sighs. Or the computer equivalent of a sigh, where the screen slowly dims and a crackling hiss of static surges through the speakers. Phoenix will get the impression of an adolescent boy's longing huff. Frustration, maybe, like he's getting a bit frustrated that people don't seem to understand.

Especially the grownups.

The screen brightens again, and the text reply rolls rapidly beneath Phoenix's entry.]

[If Phoenix knows Marco Evangelisti or Majima Goro, he'll recognize the merperson and werewolf pixelated caricatures scrolling across the screen. They chug and tinker away at a doorway-sized portal, until eventually, Majima develops Xs across his eyes and disappears into an ether, with Marco left alone, his face a cartoonish frown.

There's room for a new partner. One with wings, peeking out the edge of the screen. Pixel Marco's face levels out to a stark flat line.]

[Phoenix reads this, and unfortunately, he is not getting a good impression. Instead of a benevolent entity who wants to help, he sees someone who wants revenge. Even if the being never says so, the way he speaks is somewhat terse. It makes him on edge.

His specific questions weren't answered either - it was just a slew of wanting to protect people from the Fog. That's not what he's about. Even if Phoenix is angry at the Fog, revenge isn't the answer.

Now, Phoenix could stand staying here if it meant never having to kill another human again, but even so, will he ever see his parents again? His friends? At least Maya and Edgeworth are here, but what if they disappear?]

Well, I would like to help, but I'm not exactly sure how.

I get that more testing can ensure better quality control for machines and portals, but other than that, what is your aim in trying to get us to join you?

[The screen flickers and quiets, the playfulness gearing down. Elias is somber when he works up a reply to Phoenix, the text scrolling slower, in punctuated spurts. Start. Stop. Start. Stop. Start in a burst. Stop for the same length of time.]

[The white text blinks and fades away slowly, a whisper between two conspiring friends pressing their foreheads together on the pavement.]

[Phoenix is highly skeptical here. If he didn't have Maya and Edgeworth's wisdom, though, he might be more swayed by this entity. He might be tempted to join just to see what is going on.

And of course, the promise of leaving Ryslig does appeal to him.

However, it's what's not said that speaks more. "Join me and then I'll show you" - that sounds like an annoying sales campaign. "Just click here and pay $50 and I'll show you how to become a millionaire." Never does the Fourth promise that he'll go home, only to go "where it's safe". Never does he directly mention that they'll turn back into humans.

Fourth is sus.]

You didn't directly answer the questions I had, so that doesn't really earn any points in your favor.

How about this: I'll think about what you've said. I do want to leave this place and I'm not happy with what the Fog God has done, so maybe I will join. But I need to think it over first.

[If there wasn't a disc drive somewhere on the computer, a slot mysteriously appears in order to eject a chocolate chip cookie. It smells delicious. It's still warm. Somehow. And when Phoenix touches the delicious treat, he'll feel an electric shock jolt up his arm. Ow.]

[Phoenix feels that shock and winces, afraid that this thing is punishing him, and he immediately jolts his hand away. Yeah, he's not going to eat that cookie. The last time he ate weird substance that a dubious entity gave to him, he had Edgeworth growing out of his head.

He doesn't type anything more though, since the Fourth God effectively said goodbye. Phoenix just rubs his arm and dubiously tries to slide the cookie away from his computer.]
