This is a place to send your prayers to the Fourth god. He may not always respond, or he may respond in ways you don’t expect, but he is always listening.
Speak, he hears you.
OOC note: As of April 2020, threads with the gods will be capped at three NPC replies! Please keep this in mind when writing god prayers to make sure you get everything you need out of the thread. It’s also possible to handwave prayers by titling your comment HANDWAVED PRAYER. Handwaved prayers lack our usual flourish, but you can expect a faster response!
As of February 2024, god prayers will be handwaved only. Please only submit a prayer if you have a question for either god which needs answering in order to progress your character's arc within Ryslig. If this is something you need to tier up within the god boon system, or just to set up a player plot in general, please don't hesitate to submit a prayer about it! You may shorten it down to an OOC summary of what your character is asking. This will allow any of our helper mods to reply much faster, without having to dig into the specifics of either god's personality/writing quirks. Should this limitation be lifted again in the future, this note will be removed.

It starts as a distant crackle in the headphones, maybe the sign of a poor connection or bad wiring. In fact, it's just quiet enough for Beat to feel rather stupid about trying to get a boy-god's attention. But give it time; a minute passes, and the crackle blankets Beat in a shower of snowy static. The strangest thing about it is its warmth. It isn't just noise in his squirrely ears, it's the prickling in his fur. It's the way his hairs all stand on end and itch. Its the heat skittering over his extremities, its the dry flicker of lights overhead.
Beat isn't alone anymore, and he hears the quiet, calm -- too calm? -- voice of an adolescent boy part the veil of static, just a little.]
hello beat
please
call me elias
listen
i know youre here to thank me
but i got to thank you for the help
you and joshua
together we got those people out of the peninsula
before the fog fanatics blew my door sky high
thats fine
i made sure none of mine were hurt
and none of the people you brought me either
buildings can be restored
they didn't win as much as they hope they did
im sorry i couldnt totally stop the changes
did they really hurt a lot?
i didnt mean it
the fog doesnt make transformation easy or painless
and to stop it probably doesnt feel better

He almost jumps out of his skin when he hears the voice, breathing out in a rush to the sound of a kid, not unlike one he might have met in Shibuya, or here in the streets of Bavan, just enjoying the day. A voice who wont ever get that chance.]
It's aight, the pain faded quick after. [His legs exploded, Elias.] But I get what you was tryina do, an' thank you. All you been tryina do is help an' they jus'... I 'unno, yo. They acted like you was the devil or somethin'. Shi- uh, that stuff ain't right.
[Tapping his claws against his headphones, he's silent for a moment before continuing.]
Listen, Elias, I weren't gonna get involved. God squabbles way 'bove my understandin', ya know? But it ain't jus' yer cube they might have destroyed, it ain't jus' you they mighta hurt. They goin' too far, an' it ain't right. I wanna help, yo. Ain't sure how much I can do, butchu say the word, an' I'm there.

im so glad you understand
did joshua tell you how this works?
take this
and youll have my protection
[He won't hear it outside of his noise-cancelling headphones, but at his side Beat'll catch a glint of light. Out of a machine -- it could be a radio, it could be his laptop, a TV, a coffeemaker, anything at all with a plug to the wall -- a slim palm-sized card reflects the incandescent bulbs overhead, casting a ray of rainbows against the wall. The card is Beat's key to the Arcade, black, warm to the touch, and nearly humming with an invisible power.
Once he grasps it, he'll feel a jolt of energy rushing up his arm, bestowing upon him a set of minor boons for his informal pledge.]
this is your key
to my safe place
theres games to play
theres snacks
theres good friends
and youll have a room for yourself that you can use however youd like
she cant hear you there
none of hers can
thats where we can plan how we can keep her conduits
from doing dangerous things again

Gotchu, yo. We'll make sure they ain't gonna do this 'gain. I gotchyer back, brotha.
[He pauses briefly, staring at the card in his hand, turning it back and forth, watching the play of colors under the light.]
Take care a' yerself, an' hopefully we can do this wittout anyone gettin' hurt.
[He'll take the headphones off then and set them aside, throwing a thumbs up into the wind though.]
