This is a place to send your prayers to the Fourth god. He may not always respond, or he may respond in ways you don’t expect, but he is always listening.

Speak, he hears you.

OOC note:  As of April 2020, threads with the gods will be capped at three NPC replies! Please keep this in mind when writing god prayers to make sure you get everything you need out of the thread.It’s also possible to handwave prayers by titling your comment HANDWAVED PRAYER. Handwaved prayers lack our usual flourish, but you can expect a faster response!

As of February 2024, god prayers will be handwaved only. Please only submit a prayer if you have a question for either god which needs answering in order to progress your character's arc within Ryslig. If this is something you need to tier up within the god boon system, or just to set up a player plot in general, please don't hesitate to submit a prayer about it! You may shorten it down to an OOC summary of what your character is asking. This will allow any of our helper mods to reply much faster, without having to dig into the specifics of either god's personality/writing quirks. Should this limitation be lifted again in the future, this note will be removed.

[The arcade's many screens flare a bright orange-red, all the lights strobing in tandem, and then they abruptly die. One screen directly in front of Makoto is on, backlit, a cursor blinking sorrowfully as it awaits input.]

the fog

[A wash of gray splashes across the arcade screens, consuming the text. When Elias speaks again, it's black text on a white background.]

i gave them fog
i let go of my influence
and pushed the fog to take control
thats what hurts more than anything else

the pain they feel
the hunger they cant stop
thats the fog infecting their neurons
and interfering with their brains signals to the rest of their body

they werent my friend
they showed me where their loyalty goes
so i let them have it
that way
they could know the fog all the way down to their firing neurons
every time they eat someone
they could know how the fog creates nothing but hurt

[She startles a bit, as the screen strobes, but holds her ground.]

You told me to pick someone else, and before I even got a chance to, you trigger some kind of despair thing in Souda and he didn't want to see me for a few days 'cause he was acting weird. It sure as hell sounded like it was going to be either you or him in the messages.

[She's shaking a little because of how mad she is, really, especially as she continues.]

How dare you try to hurt him with what happened in his world? Do you really know how to treat your friends? Even if I took his protection away, I know you don't like him. I know you probably don't like Maya, and she's my sister!

Do you seriously think Maya doesn't get it? You did punish her, but she gets it! She gets it more than you know. Shouldn't the fact that they tried to help people mean something!? But I guess it doesn't.

[A huff.]

Listen, I'm sorry the Cube got bombed but guess what: I'm happy people were okay. Collective punishment sucks, and while I get you were trying to make things better with the Cube, there are better ways to do it than hurting other monsters no matter who they follow!

[Finally, she lifts up her keycard and chucks it at the screen in front of her.]

I'm not gonna make a liar out of Kazuichi. I'm out.

[The air whooshes out of the room. Toothy jaws flash on the screen and chomp the keycard when it strikes the screen, pixelated bits flying every which way until the power cuts. Like fire, sparks, bits of blood and scrap flying from the violent crush of jaws. Makoto would swear she could feel spittle on her face.

It's stifling. It's hard to breathe, heat and noxious ventilation blasting Makoto's face in the darkness.

An eerie mechanical crrrrrunch, crunch, crunch, crunch crackles from the surround-sound speakers through the pitch black. Elias does away with the text, whispering to her in the soft tones of a mischievous young boy.]

[The floor will drop out from beneath Makoto, and it'll feel like she's floating in a void, suspended by crossed wires and raw energy pulsing a soft, melancholy blue.]
