This is a place to send your prayers to the Fourth god. He may not always respond, or he may respond in ways you don’t expect, but he is always listening.

Speak, he hears you.

OOC note:  As of April 2020, threads with the gods will be capped at three NPC replies! Please keep this in mind when writing god prayers to make sure you get everything you need out of the thread.It’s also possible to handwave prayers by titling your comment HANDWAVED PRAYER. Handwaved prayers lack our usual flourish, but you can expect a faster response!

As of February 2024, god prayers will be handwaved only. Please only submit a prayer if you have a question for either god which needs answering in order to progress your character's arc within Ryslig. If this is something you need to tier up within the god boon system, or just to set up a player plot in general, please don't hesitate to submit a prayer about it! You may shorten it down to an OOC summary of what your character is asking. This will allow any of our helper mods to reply much faster, without having to dig into the specifics of either god's personality/writing quirks. Should this limitation be lifted again in the future, this note will be removed.

[Doing this in text feels strange - doing this at all feels strange - but it also seems like the simplest way to contact the boy-god. Faramir sits cross-legged by the lakeside for a long time, looking up at the strange stars, before his fingers find the keys.]

I have given a great deal of thought to your cause, and to all that we saw in the other world. I have spoken, too, with Jiang Cheng, who has been most helpful in explaining your cause. I do not know in whole what claim you have to this world, and yet it seems to me that someone must stand to that claim, for the Fog God certainly cannot be trusted with the power, nor be allowed to reign forever as she has.

I cannot offer you my fealty in whole, for it is already spoken for. I do not wish to pretend otherwise, nor to deceive you in this: my first loyalty is to Gondor and to my King, if he lives, and that will not change.

But we are far from Gondor, and I deem your cause is just, and if you will accept my service, I would offer it.

I appreciate that, but know that I understand it may not be possible. For now, my priority is to protect the native people of this world, and to defend it from her chaos.

I will do what I can to serve you in that aim.

I may have some questions for you, around the nature of this world and its spinning, to try to divine a more permanent solution to her meddling in its affairs. But I know that you were not present for the time before her reign - or so I understand, at least - and so I must ask: how much do you know of the time before your empowerment? I understand this may be a presumptive question: know that I mean no offence, but only seek understanding.

[ For a second, Faramir's computer freezes. The cursor responds to no input, and the machine goes completely silent. Merely a moment later, the fan motor grinds back to life. ]

[He lets out a long breath of relief when the words begin to appear again.]
