This is a place to send your prayers to the Fourth god. He may not always respond, or he may respond in ways you don’t expect, but he is always listening.
Speak, he hears you.
OOC note: As of April 2020, threads with the gods will be capped at three NPC replies! Please keep this in mind when writing god prayers to make sure you get everything you need out of the thread. It’s also possible to handwave prayers by titling your comment HANDWAVED PRAYER. Handwaved prayers lack our usual flourish, but you can expect a faster response!
As of February 2024, god prayers will be handwaved only. Please only submit a prayer if you have a question for either god which needs answering in order to progress your character's arc within Ryslig. If this is something you need to tier up within the god boon system, or just to set up a player plot in general, please don't hesitate to submit a prayer about it! You may shorten it down to an OOC summary of what your character is asking. This will allow any of our helper mods to reply much faster, without having to dig into the specifics of either god's personality/writing quirks. Should this limitation be lifted again in the future, this note will be removed.

You're my friend, Kira. Isn't that real?

Should he just talk back? Is that how this works?]
It's not. [He'll be blunt. God or not.] I wouldn't consider you that. You're a faceless and recently voiceless entity that hands out magic tricks to those that pledge service. A service is filled with promises of defeating her. Yet in the hour of greatest strife there is silence. Which, to be fair, is sort of how all Gods work. They don't do much of anything but everyone believes in them anyway.
[Kira flicks at the radio, feeling irritated more at himself for going along with all of this to begin with.]
Now that I know the truth and my purpose for joining is moot I have to ask myself: what use do I have for you? What can you offer? Here's a better question actually, if I am to be stuck here forever and ever what can she offer me? Kishibe Rohan made me witness my death back home over and over again. That sounds like a pretty useful ability, does it not?
Marco has told me, several times, that it'd be dangerous if I was on her side. Because of my nature and what I could do in her hands. Which begs the question just what could I do... Surely more than cause someone to replace the lightbulbs in their home. Surely I could do much more. I know I am capable of much more.
[It's of course a bluff. He has no interest in siding with the Fog Witch after what's happened and knowing who serves her. But this... this is not something that holds any interest to him either. If friendship is the only thing the Fourth God has to offer then he'll pass. He has no need for that. And then it's all on him for hoping that anything could be achieved in this hellish little world.]

I want a peaceful life. I want a peaceful world.
[ A pause in the cadence, considering and the static fades into the voice which sounds more plaintive. The audible equivalent of :( in text. ]
I thought you would understand.
[ The quality clears into the same sound of the voice he heard initially. ]
Is power what you want? To defeat them? Beat up the people who'd call you a monster? I can give you power if that's really what you need.
[ There's no indication of disappointment in the voice now, and yet. . . ]
But if you want to be more human again. . .
[ The offer hangs there, waiting. ]

A quiet peaceful life... Yes, that's all he's ever wanted. It's what he's tried so hard to obtain. And even here... He's been doing his very best. But they won't leave him alone. Since he arrived they've been trying to kill him.
The power to punish them would be grand but it's not in his nature to go out looking for a fight. And not if it means forfeiting any more of himself. Even if he's stuck here forever with no chance of getting home it'd be much better if he could go back to being a human.
And what would killing them and punishing them accomplish in the end? It goes back and forth, he kills one of them they kill him then he kills one of them again in return. It's maddening. He can't live that way.
A quiet peaceful life... living simply like a plant. Beautiful Morioh is far away and out of his grasp. He will never return there because his life was stolen from him. So he has to settle with this place. And it's a nightmare. But following the Fourth God means that it one day might become nice. A victory over the Fog Witch and this entire curse. And that's a good reason to stay on this side, right?
Marco said something about all of this. He doesn't remember too well. He was starving, focused on revenge. But it was something along the lines of: Don't become what she wants you to be. More power won't help... Tempting as it is it's not going to create the life he wants.
What he wants is to go home but since that is impossible...
His claws lightly tap on the radio and he finally leans in, speaking somewhat softly as if they were sharing a secret.]
I don't want power. I want to be human again. I want my stand. I want to go home. There is someone in my beautiful town of Morioh that I very much want to see just once more. There are of course people I'd like to kill. I want to torture them and make them feel tenfold what I've had to endure at their hands. And I want to kill the Fog Witch. Some of these are probable and some are not.
And so we wrap back around to why I bothered prayed to begin with. For something real. You offered friendship, I declined. You've offered power, again I must decline. So what can be offered... I do find words to be quite real. I consider myself to be a man of them. I would consider a promise real. What say you to that? Will you make me a promise?

I want that peace too. I'll do anything to get it.
I promise.

I'm stuck here. That's just how it is. The dead can't return to life where I'm from. The people who caused this death are here. Nearly all of them. And some are even aligned with the Fog Witch. And they even saw it in their best interest to kill me again here. It's such unacceptable behavior. It is unfortunate that I am not strong enough to do do anything yet. And while your offer for more power was tempting it's only a short term solution. I like to think in the long term. The future is so important after all.
The promise is for when we win. When the fog witch is defeated and all is right once again. I want those that harmed me to be stuck here forever, as I am. I want them to suffer for their choices. For the wrongs they've committed. And not just against me. Against all of us. No one gets to go home. Everyone pays for their crimes. I specifically have a few people in mind. And those are the ones I want a promise for. If I don't get to go back to Morioh, no one does. And if you can make this promise to me, then I will help you. I won't question anymore, I won't doubt. You see, I wanted to go home originally but if that's not possible then I'll take them all down with me.
But, if we're going to torture some Fog followers, why not torture them all?
[He's not sure how vengeful and petty the Fourth God is. With any luck, it'll be right up there with him. And it's a good promise, and sort of a risk on his part. He helps and so long as they end up winning he gets his promise. And that's trusting the Fourth God to keep it. But he thinks he will...]
If you can keep this promise to me, I assure you I am all in.
no subject
If we win, I promise you they won't go back.
[He offers him the promise he asked for in it's entirety. There's no room for loopholes here, in the tinny voice. ]
Not a single one of them.

He's...
He's happy. A laugh escapes him. And he finds that he can't stop. This is truly wonderful! Luck eventually always go back to the side of Kira Yoshikage!
He's unstoppable. Even in death. Even here! No one can stop him!
He needs a moment to collect himself and catch his breath. Oh, he's so very glad.]
My boy, my dear boy, we have ourselves a deal. If you ever need something from me, I'll be more than happy to oblige. Whatever it takes, let's kill her..

[ Is the single word over the radio, before static and voice fades: the station it's supposed to be on comes back in. A newscaster's voice flickers through the speakers where the Fourth spoke previously: "—ecent negotiations have ended, an agreement reached by both parties that may spell trouble for their market competitors. Speculation continues, however, as to…"
The deal is made.]
