This is a place to send your prayers to the Fourth god. He may not always respond, or he may respond in ways you don’t expect, but he is always listening.

Speak, he hears you.

OOC note:  As of April 2020, threads with the gods will be capped at three NPC replies! Please keep this in mind when writing god prayers to make sure you get everything you need out of the thread.It’s also possible to handwave prayers by titling your comment HANDWAVED PRAYER. Handwaved prayers lack our usual flourish, but you can expect a faster response!

As of February 2024, god prayers will be handwaved only. Please only submit a prayer if you have a question for either god which needs answering in order to progress your character's arc within Ryslig. If this is something you need to tier up within the god boon system, or just to set up a player plot in general, please don't hesitate to submit a prayer about it! You may shorten it down to an OOC summary of what your character is asking. This will allow any of our helper mods to reply much faster, without having to dig into the specifics of either god's personality/writing quirks. Should this limitation be lifted again in the future, this note will be removed.

[ She is alone there, for a moment. More than one, then the silence brims with his presence— jitters in the edges of her vision. It'd been a pause as if he'd had to check, or this was something he didn't want to admit to.

He speaks, synthetic and mechanical as always. ]

[ Distorted though his voice is through static, Yuzu hears a youth to the Fourth God's voice. It's not distress, but it echoes with a helpless irritation— that this is all he can say. That for all he's done, his grip on his followers isn't tight enough to stop the Fog from yanking them away. ]

[operadiance]

She—

[ She, the Fog God. Anyone else he would call by name, wouldn't he? Paint a clearer target on the human or monster that had taken someone important to them. Yuzu bites down, clenching her teeth; her hands are fists at her sides, shaking with heat and losing color. Her scales blanch white. ]

Took him where?

[ To some city, some wilderness, some place where she can follow to bring him back — her voice doesn't shake the way her hands do. ]

where we cant get him

[There's a spit of static. He almost sounds petulant.]

[ Where we can't get him. Where we can't do anything. Where Yuzu is stuck, once more, helpless to do anything. Once more railing against the fog's cage and unable to break loose. Spinning her wheels on a track that leads nowhere (not even to death, useless conclusion that it would be).

With a cry of frustration, Yuzu turns, arms loose, fire popping along her shoulders, her elbow, her hands; stray flames catch the bouquet atop Laurel's decoy grave, the flowers scorching to ash in an instant.

She shouts, four eyes open but unable to see her target. ]

What am I supposed to do?! He's the only one who stood beside me when I joined you — he's the one who always helps me, even when I'm too stubborn to ask. I can't do this without him! I can't do everything by myself! There has to be something!

[ It is so much easier to be angry. ]

Just tell me what to do and I'll do it!

[fourthmade]

[The room goes ominously silent. Yuzu could be forgiven for thinking the Fourth is no longer present in the time it takes him to reply. When he does, his voice is quiet but clear.]

[ She should lose something that's hers.

It's a simple directive — an easy, ever-shifting target. Something of hers, something important. When he says place, she understands it. the capricious way she treats her captives, where even her followers are made to suffer by her whims. Yuzu wouldn't want to be sent as an assassin's knife, but if that's what it took— no, a track like that is fruitless now, so she doesn't need to think about it.

Anger, fury, upset, the unconstrained heat draws in, taking shape inside her. ]

I'll tear them down to their foundations. [ Her eyes are unfocused, staring into the future, but her fists still shake at her sides. ] I'll shatter every brick.

[ It's an oath. It's a promise. ]
